The olympys pack looks tempting...
Just need to, once again, convince myself that spending my hard earned money on pixel images not a bad thing |

Click to display I wrote those packs on the international X-D Happy to see that some one posted then here. But prices: History Pack: 35 USD Lycky Day: 60 USD Olympus: 100 USD Ultimate: 180 USD |
We all have that problem luinlote. Some of us can convince ourselves easier than others though. I'm not one of those people.

@ freehold would you be able to get prices for all packs??? Or is that the bottom ammount...

Does anyone know the specific date when the ec changes are coming?

@ freehold would you be able to get prices for all packs??? Or is that the bottom ammount... The problem is that the packs need to be tied to the pass packages that are offered . Here is the closest I can get. Pack History $40 US Pach Lucky $65 US Pack Olympe $110 US Ultimate: $190 US US Current prices are: $30 for 20 passes $45 for 30 passes $125 for 100 passes The packs by tradition were offered with the Olympus pack last year costing 100passes and the Asgard pack I believe was 30 passes. I just have not quite correlated the pass packages we currently have to the packs being offered. But the above is pretty close to what I think they will cost. They have always been too expensive for me.

Monday Dec 1st. The week of my exams. Darn, my exam week keeps getting worse and worse the more I think about it. Oh gee, I guess I'll have fun on thursday when my exams finish and my brain has turned into a puddle. |
Thanks freehold if they were ablw to be brought with ingame passes I'd go for them.. a little annoyed at that.
|
Thanks for the info once again freehold. Helpfull as always.
clee0004, we all love it when that happens, I get a big test next week. I don't understand though why tests are called exams, I mean, there pretty much the same thing, is one word supposed to make it sound less stressful? Back on topic again for me, not looking forward to the rides. Not looking forward to the whole EC update on December 1st, two days for me, until that day. Oh well, I'm not going to go on a BLUPping race to try and BLUP my much needed arabs before the rides change. dec 1st.... Must finish BLUPing my Fjord before I have to do two types of rides! farewell sweet sweet short gallop rides, you made BLUPing Fjords a joy Yep, I'm as overjoyed for that change as you are.^

I'm kind of open to the rides at the moment. I guess it will be harder to blup really any of my horses. But it will be interesting. Now for the matter Mountain or Forest for my ec location. Gonna be hard to pick.

Ow posted this on preprod... I thought people might find it interesting because it gives insight into why the rides are being changed
Click to display Yes rides take a little bit more time as you have to do two types of rides. The only thing is that once you've finished blupping there won't be much left to do. Completing a horse's training doesn't take much longer than before to one or two horse days close. We've looked at the breed profiles (because it's not something that can be looked at from a single breed's perspective). Here is a little table showing what is currently on the game and what the changes do here on the preproduction. Their repartition varies according to the skills that are allocated to each type of ride and competition. Here is what's currently on the game on Howrse.com: In red the breed profiles that require 2 types of rides and competitions to complete their BLUP. In green the breeds that only require one ride and competition to complete their BLUP> As you can see there are 6 breed profiles which hold a large advantages over the others. Now this table shows what is here and active on the preprod: As you can see there is only one breed profile who remains in green. There is still a fair bit of red profiles but also a decent amount of profiles requiring either one ride and two competitions or two rides and one competition. And finally we have worked on an even more balanced breed profile repartition with this proposal that isn't online for the moment and that would have: for mountain rides Stamina Speed Trot For forest rides Jumping Galop Dressage Here we achieve a global breed profile repartition that tends to avoid having over advantageous breed profiles and very disadvantageous breed profiles. This would mean that cross horses wouldn't be as adavantaged as they are now and would also allow two other breed profiles with 2 rides and 2 competitions to only have a single type of ride instead. This seems fairer that letting the crossers have the main advantage. With this solution we lose a by of realism in the skill gain depending on the rides but is isn't really important but just makes the skills that are related to a ride a little harder to remember for new players. What do you think? Concerning the amount of energy used in rides. If we adjust it, it'll be of1 or 2%. Diminishing it more would equate to ending the whole training process much earlier than now. On top of that with the future features comes the removal of the meadow and box actions and dispatch their energy gains on other elements (feeding will maybe give a bit more energy than now) as well as the arrival of the watering trough . We would rather make the adjustments at that point rather than anticipating and doing them twice. Cheers

I'm gonna miss my long steep slope rides. Made BLUP'ing my foundies so much easier.

I do not understand any of that. Way to early for me, need my coffee.

So TB's will be 2 rides they're gonna be BLUPed at like 30 with those rides :/ The majority of breeds will now need 2 rides. The concept of balance is nice, but darn if the execution doesn't hurt most people. |

Why do you not like rides?
Not only do they make BLUPPING a little more of a challenge, but howrse are trying to make rides fair, so it isn't easier to BLUP one breed rather than another. Thus, I believe this is a good idea. Good job, Owlient! |

Why do you not like rides? Because of the extra 2 years they tack on to rides. Am I excited for an easier to way bold speed? YES. Oh my God, a million times YES. I think that that's been long overdue, and I'm really glad that's changing. As somebody who works with a lot of foundies, I need to get their rides done ASAP, since many of them are getting older and have only minimal training in them. Those additional 2 years make a HUGE difference; that's the difference between having to put a Stone on them or not. |
By Retired breeder, 30th November 2014 22:27:35
But what about horses that need mountain and forest rides to bold?
How do we 'switch' ECs! |
How do we 'switch' ECs! Once you log in to your EC after the update goes through you will get a pop up to make a selection. You then have 30 days to "try out" the various locations. If you fail to log on, the system will make a choice for you permanently). If you try all locations but want to switch at the last day but fail to do so the system will lock you into your last choice. If you are just starting up an EC there will be a tip tool to help you.

I am so confused which type of rides should I choose for my E.C?

I am so confused which type of rides should I choose for my E.C? I think you mean location. Well, it really depends on how you plan on using your EC. If you're keeping it private, think about which types of horses you work with the most. Have a lot of speed horses? Go with a forest. Lots of stamina breeds? Mountains it is. If it's a public EC, you are more than likely better off going with a forest location, since speed breeds are pretty popular here. Or if you wanted to be different, you could do a beach location. |
so if the 'put in box' action is being removed how will horses receive the Hoof pick and Comb bonuses? (and also the Tub of Grease which appears as an objective so often for me)
|
so if the 'put in box' action is being removed how will horses receive the Hoof pick and Comb bonuses? (and also the Tub of Grease which appears as an objective so often for me) This was not explained to us on the test server ( not in this update) but my educated guess it would be another location( either another square or one of the existing squares in the feed section). Some divines use the meadows and boxes as the way of delivering diamonds so they must figure out a new way. This is not in the imminent update coming tomorrow so we must wait until we are called to test whatever they decide. So premature to worry about it yet. We will have PLENTY to contend with. The whole site is COMPLETELY different and navigation will have some to do a few face plants.
