Here is what is being tested right now.
Rides Click to display Rides are based on where the Equestrian Center is located. Existing trot, gallop and cross-country rides are replaced with new types of rides: • forest rides • mountain rides Beach rides appear on the right of these two new types of rides rather than below them. When riding on the beach, you can now decide which skill you want to increase and decrease. However if you don’t make any specific selection, the default setting will add to the highest skill by removing from the lowest. Skills Forest rides add skill points to: • speed • gallop • trot Mountain rides add skill points to: • stamina • dressage • jumping Energy used Long and short rides no longer exist. Both types of rides (forest and mountain) require the same amount of energy. • The tutorial tip about short and long rides is removed. The rides now require a few more hours to be complete, but eat up less energy for each hour worth of ride. Boarding Click to display In order to make way for future changes to the registration page, some changes are made to the number of days for boarding registration. Equestrian Center Registration When registering a horse to an equestrian center, the following durations are offered: • 1 day • 3 days • 7 days • 10 days • 20 days • 30 days • 60 days From now on, durations offered on this page will be: • 1 day • 5 days • 10 days • 30 days • 60 days The default duration will be 5 days (instead of 3, as it used to be). Equestrian Center Office In the equestrian center office, on the Boarding and lessons tab, the drop-down list for minimum boarding length prolongation will offer the following durations: • 5 days • 10 days • 30 days • 60 days This will also include a 1 day option for VIP players who have the divine horse Spring. Accordingly, the drop-down list for maximum boarding length will offer the following durations: • 5 days • 10 days • 30 days • 60 days This will also include a 1 day option for VIP players who have the divine horse Spring and chose a minimum boarding length of 1 day. Extending Boarding Duration On a horse's page, durations offered for extending boarding times will be as follows: • 5 days • 10 days • 30 days • 60 days • 100 days Reserves Click to display Breeder and Equestrian Center reserves and inventory have been merged to make them easier to manage. Merging Inventories The Equestrian Center inventory is removed. All items in this inventory are now moved to the breeder's inventory. Droppings, previously under Agriculture at the equestrian center store, and under Miscellaneous in the breeder's store, remains under Miscellaneous. Stores Since inventories are merged, stores are merged as well. • The equestrian center store page is removed • Agriculture and Box sections are added (as well as all their associated items) to the breeder's store page. • Purchasing boxes, meadows, greenhouses, racing tracks and calves is done via the page where they are used as before. • Droppings can no longer be purchased at the store. It is however still possible to sell it. • Manure fertilizer is added to the store, under Agriculture then Fertilizer • The Materials subsection is removed from the Agriculture section. Item donations In the item donation pop-up window, all the items that can be donated are grouped under various tabs that follow the same logic as the inventory on the Store page (except categories in which no item can be donated, such as Bonus and Black market). The following tabs can be found: • Food • Equipment • Agriculture • Box • Miscellaneous • Scarecrows and Showers cannot be donated, as before. Custom UFO's Pegasus and VIP members have a custom UFO option on their My Page. • Any item in the inventory can be used in custom UFO's. • The list of items is updated to include items related to Equestrian Centers and are still sorted by categories, just like the inventory. I hope they become a thing on here! That, or Lusitano's. Can you tell I have a thing for Baroque style breeds?
|
Wonderful, so now they mess up the rides even more so even more horses become double ride horses except perhaps one or two.
Seriously, that's terrible gameplay design.
|
Instead of again making the mistake of advantaging certain breeds over others, why not just have modular rides where 1 type of ride does the top 3 skills and the other type of ride does the other 3 skills? That way no-one is disadvantaged.

Upcoming updates page:
Click to display The next phase The next step will be implemented at the beginning of February. Production Cycle Thanks to the location of your Equestrian Center and your boarders, you can collect a brand new type of resource: wood for the forest, iron for the mountains, sand for the beach. There are two types of resources: Resources associated with the location of your Equestrian Center: acquired via missions done by your boarders or purchased from the store. Resources available for all Equestrian Centers: agricultural products (fodder, straw, flax, etc.) and livestock products (leather). By combining different resources, you can make most of the products and facilities in your Equestrian Center At the store, the price of products that you make depends on supply and demand. You can change the location of your equestrian center for 30 days after the next update, to test the various possibilities. Workshops Workshops allow you to make: Buildings: boxes, greenhouses, new workshops Box (shower, trough) and meadow (trough, tractor) improvements Products (equipment, mash, fertilizer) Depending on their size, they allow you to make more or less of your chosen product. The number of workshops that you can simultaneously have producing goods depends on the prestige of your Equestrian Center. Production time depends on the product that you are making. Raising Cows You can dedicate the use of some of your fields to raise cattle Cows allows you to get leather You can have 6 fields simultaneously growing crops and/or containing cows. Buildings in your Equestrian Center A new improvement is available for boxes: the drinking trough. It allows your boarders to obtain 4 times more energy and morale via the “drinking” action. This improvement does not count toward prestige. The tractor replaces the scarecrow. The trough is an improvement for fields with cattle: it allows you to obtain 30% more leather. When a building is used too much, it is disabled until it is repaired with resources. You can have several greenhouses. They are available in three different sizes and wear out as they are used. Horse's Page Lessons carried out by horses have been renamed Missions. There are two types of missions: Lessons, which bring in money to the Equestrian Center manager Gathering missions, which bring in resources to the Equestrian Center This action always brings in money for the horse owner and skills for the horse. The “Put in the meadow” and “Put in the box” actions have been deleted. Adjustments have been made to counteract the loss of energy/morale. What's next... The following is a general overview of what has been planned for the future. We will provide more details of each feature closer to their release date. A tutorial is offered when creating an Equestrian Center Draft horses are coming to the game Complete overhaul of the Secret Market Trophies for Equestrian Centers VIP advantages specific to Equestrian Centers And perhaps other features that will be produced along the way

I can't believe they're actually letting us make leather from cows. I guess frustrated, sarcastic responses get looked at seriously.
|
I like
Click to display that we can have more greenhouses and different sizes as well.
|
Not just that though, that adds to out crop meadows????!!!!!!!!! I may have to end up stopping my equestrian centre after this, because I may use up all my money for the equestrian centre.
|
I don't like
Click to display The reserves merging.

By Retired breeder, 18th November 2014 15:57:47
I'm OK with the reserves merging, since I was planning on using my EC as a source of equus. Would have preferred for the accounts to remain separate and have the ability to transfer money between the two, but I guess admins caught on to the fact that 99% of players would drain their breeder's reserves to avoid high vet fees. The changes seem pretty solid so far; all Howrse needs to do is get rid of the vet fees, tweak the BC a bit (ie vary the objectives a bit and make them fairer for new people), and add a few more breeds and Howrse will be good to go for a good long while.

Luthien.
This question ( vet fees) has been raised by a tester so if it gets answered I will post the result here.
|
By Retired breeder, 18th November 2014 17:35:26
The vet fees need to die. They've proven to be absolutely useless, as well as a huge money drain for new players.
|
I like the newer vet fees actually. Before it cost 500e for everybody if I recall correctly. I like that we can pay as low as 100e now and I'm sure a lot of new players would agree.
|
By Retired breeder, 18th November 2014 19:19:47
The vet fees as they are now are busted. How is it fair to pay 1,300 (or some other such number) for a 500 e covering? Or worse, the full 7,500 "cap" for a 500 e covering. The old way had a flat fee of 200 e's that was paid at the time of the birth. Even if you only have 1 e to your name, it really isn't all that hard to come up with 200 for the vet- go congratulate 5 Topazes, and boom! You've got yourself 250 e's, which is enough to pay the vet AND leave you with a little left over. The new fees punish players for being financially smart, which is just wrong.
|
If you're paying 1,300e it's because you have between 120,000e and 130,000e in your reserve. The cap is 2,500 by the way.
The fees are 1% of your reserve (rounded to the nearest 10,000), so the lowest you can expect to pay is 100e - which is less than what it used to be. Considering all the bellyaching people do about the 'elite' being given more and more advantages every time a new updated comes out I'm surprised that people are still complaining about the way the fees are calculated. It seems to me it was probably added to redress the balance a little. I don't think it is broken at all. Perhaps the percentage is a little high (maybe 0.5% with a minimum of 100e might be a bit more fair), but really, is 1,300e that big a deal when you have 120,000e in your reserves?

It adds up, oftentimes really quickly. For myself, I don't really do a whole lot of "bulk breeding", but the top breeders do how many horses a day? Imagine also throwing uni's on top of that mess; I've heard tales of people spending tens of thousands for coverings on their uni's. It's insane. Personally, I've HATED the vet fees ever since they first came out; the reasoning behind them was faulty as all get out, and the lack of communication from the admins on it was staggering (this was on the US server, not sure how it was here). Either way, we'll more than likely be stuck with them until all eternity, so I'll just keep my grumpy rants to myself.

these EC changes were supposed to make things easier but I am very annoyed and very confused and not wanting to even bother with the location thing, it's just too much effort when my EC is just to augment my breeding, not the main focus of the game.
firstly, mad about the rides. exactly what sass said about the top 3 skills. very annoyed. furious!!!!! about the minimum 5 day thing. to get to a normal priced lesson, i have to skill my horse a bit, wait for the two days to go, then board them somewhere with a reasonable lesson. now i have to wait four days. great. if you're going to do this thing with the EC, you better put spring in the direct sales. this is ridiculous. even 3 days has been too long - 5 is just a joke. spring's bonus should be made for more than just VIP players or don't introduce this 5 day thing. for those of us who power through horses and alternate them between boxes in our own ECs, this is maddening. no put in the meadow option? is this game supposed to be based on real interactions with horses or not? the only good thing about this is the reserves merging and the new breeds. also why is the retired golden apple going to be avaialble to buy? i bought a tonne of coats with only 100 copies, still waitng for the last 20 to be bought to get my trophies. apparently i should've bought ones i liked instead of trying to be strategious. |
By Retired breeder, 19th November 2014 02:46:48
firstly, mad about the rides. exactly what sass said about the top 3 skills. very annoyed. I get this one. Personally, the majority of my horses do long rides of some sort, usually steep slope and gallop. I would be furious at the new changes if my horse's skill sets were something like jumping and speed, since mountain rides only give jumping skills. Definitely very frustrating. ALL of the things you said about the new 5 day minimum default. I know that we're in between updates, and that the individual pieces don't function well independently, but for the love of our reserves, WHY does the minimum need to be changed?! Ugh. I'm hoping that the majority of EC's will get a massive spike in prestige with these new changes; otherwise, I don't relish the thought of my horses being stuck in a sub-par EC for longer than necessary. |
