You can expect it to translate in synonym especially when using a generalised word such as plant/plants the word for vegetable and plant mean almost exactly the same thing only when going back to the metaphorical root of the word do we see any change in the meaning It's only that we use one word more then the other when referring to the eatable plants ..... in now occurs to me that you didn't ask for any of this info and it has nothing to do with the topic........
