The increasing foundation GP update is live on INT so far, and with it, a bunch of angry players. I agree with them, and here's why:

First off, as you know, the GP formula is structured such that no matter how high the top GP on a server is, it takes roughly the same number of horse generations to reach the top GP from a GP of 350.

The GP formula in its current form was deliberately designed with balance in mind, and now Owlient wants to give an even bigger perk to new players by ruining the game continuity and essentially further devaluing GP?

Changing the nature of foundation horses breaks a lot of game continuity, and aside from alienating many of Howrse's players, large groups of NIB dedicated players can and will likely throw in the towel now that their work has been nullified.

Instead, Owlient should have applied a perk to new players, where new players have something like double GP gains and double aging point finding probability, but only if the new account doesn't have access to the sales/auctions. This would stop abuse of such a perk, and the perk can run out after a few days into the new players seniority.

Eh. I'm mostly just sad that I'll no longer be able to NIB anymore. Sure, I could keep breeding the stock I currently have, but its only a matter of time before a foundie will have a higher GP than a 4th or 5th gen horse.

I feel so sorry for you guys. I bred Appy NIBs for a bit but I'd be infuriated as well if all my work was taken from me by something that completely did not need to happen *sigh*. Hopefully some resolution will occur, but I can't believe there's been no notification of this on INT/AUS (except by players) and no further justification by admin.

Yep, you've got it. The rolling GP increases on foundies will soon kill any and all NIB projects, since most NIB'er's can't keep pace with the ever-rising foundie GP. And thank you Frozen for your sentiments.

Does anyone know if the Legendary horses will be sold in the reserved sales?
Not sure how they'll be able to do that *esther* as it's the tack that's collected to put on our own horse and not the horse itself, so personally I wouldn't count on it happening

The GP of the horse a new player receives when they arrive on the game and the GP of new breeds introduced on the game will now increase slowly to avoid that the gap between new players and the rest of the community becoming bigger and bigger.

How does it work ?

► The beginning GP will always be far from the best GP of the weakest breed of the game (unicorns included), so it is impossible to get an advantage to get a new account horse instead of a good horse that is raised by a player.

► It increases from 6 points a day maximum. As for the moment the beginning GP is really very far away from where the GP on the game is, it will probably increase for 6 points each day during some time.

► It will not change the GP of the horses that are already inside the game, it is only for the horses created by new players and for the new breeds

Also, from now, the breeds directory displays the profile of a breed based on the genetic threshold which can be a bit different than the profile the breed had at the moment we introduced it on the game. So the breed directory now shows a profile of each breed that corresponds to the real GP evolution of the breeds.

What about the people who were new players once? The ones who overcame the overwhelming odds to make something out of nothing? This is not rewarding them for their hard work. This is unfair. It affects too many people.

392 - 350 = 42 GP

Gaining 6 GP per day, it's been 7 days since this was added.

I noticed my foundies started to gain GP as well but barely 0.6 or so per day and only on the days I looked after them.

Dora, I'm quite surprised. The information on INT suggested that only new foundies would be getting the raise. However I get my stats from the breeding directories, which shows 6 GP raise.

Wait, what? You're joking. All of the foundies born before the update should have a static GP of 350- why in the world would Howrse retroactively raise the GP of ALL foundies? Makes no sense.
