Except it won't really do anything for new players, since comp monsters with low trot but really high speed and dressage can still enter the same comps as BLUP'ing foundies. That is the main source of frustration for many new players- they can barely get any wins on their foundies. Another player proposed the idea of having admin-run comps for players with 30 days and under seniority. That way newbie will have a safe place to learn how to BLUP their horses without fear of getting crushed by comp monsters.

Note for the mods- Yes, I'm aware that any horse that qualifies for a comp may enter, nor am I implying that everybody with high skilled horses intentionally stomp all over foundie/newbies. It is incredibly frustrating, however, when you continuously enter comp after comp and keep coming up with losing places, or worse, a string of seconds (so close!).

The GP of the horse a new player receives when they arrive on the game and the GP of new breeds introduced on the game will now increase slowly to avoid that the gap between new players and the rest of the community becoming bigger and bigger.

How does it work ?

► The beginning GP will always be far from the best GP of the weakest breed of the game (unicorns included), so it is impossible to get an advantage to get a new account horse instead of a good horse that is raised by a player.

► It increases from 6 points a day maximum. As for the moment the beginning GP is really very far away from where the GP on the game is, it will probably increase for 6 points each day during some time.

► It will not change the GP of the horses that are already inside the game, it is only for the horses created by new players and for the new breeds

Also, from now, the breeds directory displays the profile of a breed based on the genetic threshold which can be a bit different than the profile the breed had at the moment we introduced it on the game. So the breed directory now shows a profile of each breed that corresponds to the real GP evolution of the breeds.

I don't at all see what this is supposed to accomplish.

I'm not happy about the idea of foundies having higher GP than the 2nd gens that I worked hard to blup and breed, which would happen in less than a week with a +6 daily increase.

It's not just that 350 foundies will become rarer, and thus even more inaccessible to NIB'er's, it's that these changes will completely kill all NIB projects. Like I posted earlier, it's not hard to breed a quality horse from an un-BLUP'ed foundie. Fix the comps, NOT the GP.
I'm now glad I have an army of hoarded foundies. Gah it was my hobby to collect 350GP foundies, so this will irritate me. As far as I'm concerned, foundies are 350GP and should stay that way. I'm curious now what that will mean for new breeds when introduced, I'm guessing they won't be 350 either.
Can't say I'm happy, but guess I'll have to grow accustomed if it's introduced. I can't begin to imagine how fustrating it would be for NIBers. I don't think this will be a wise choice for Howrse to add, I agree it should be the comps that they focus a change on. Not sure how much of a positive impact doing this will have, but it certainly will have many negatives.

You have no idea, modelhorse. As for new breeds, the rolling GP thing will also be implemented with them, as well as all baby foundies from Hipparion.
hmm, not liking the idea of the GP change. altering the comps would probably be a better idea.. introduce something new, instead of changing something that has been the same for years. theres going to be many unhappy campers after this update.

I don't agree that foundies should have an increase in gp each day, unless it is by work, like it is now.Increase in GP should be a credit to the trainer and reflects on how well they understand training and blupping, though I do agree it is very hard to win comps with foundies and low GP horses. It is the comps that need to be changed.I don't enter low GP horses when I see one of 1600 GP in the comps with the green thingy.Maybe there should be comps for horses horses under 600GP and another special comps for foundies, until they win the 20 comps required.
By Retired breeder, 20th October 2015 01:03:53
janedeer- That kind of already exists. If you fully BLUP a foundie now and breed it with any horse over 1,000+ GP, the foal will be born with multiple green stars, maybe even a red star. Yes, BLUP'ing can be a challenge, but that's what BLUP parties are for. I remember how hard it was to BLUP my foundies back in my early days- that's how I learned about BLUP parties.
We shouldn't need BLUP parties. Not everyone has a predictable schedule to accommodate BLUP parties, and getting wins via a BLUP party feels like a cheat to me. (Yes, I know it's allowed...but I put a lot of thought into how I train my horses for comps. I don't want them just handed to me via a couple friends with fillers.)

I hope this gp raise won't happen, if I'm understanding correctl, just seems kind of silly, I've blupped more foundies and their offspring then I can count on the int server, it's easy with foundies that have a strength in sj and xc comps because you can search out the lowest possible comp diffuculty to enter in. Why not just make this possible for other comps as well?

It's also not that hard to raise a competitive horse from foundies. With a combination of the automatic gp raise, tack changes and bonues items being now in the store adding to using public coverings from higher gp horses. Actually if the information given is accurate then breeding to a higher gp horse will still be better anyway, making this an akward thing to propose.

I've seen the "explanation", and it's extremely weak. I've also seen the arguments for the change, and it's also extremely weak. The great thing about Howrse is that there's more than one way to play, but it seems like Howrse is trying to funnel us all into breeding competitively, which is expensive and not every can do it/is interested in it. NIB'ing is unique, since it requires a great deal of forethought and strategy for it's long term survival.
*Eeeek* Next set of divines, definitely something I will collect, as I'm a huge believer in this stuff. And I'm definitely getting my corresponding one.
This is the promo after the H_____ one. Also new change to come when this set comes out due to reason you'll see below.
Found & copied this all from the CA spoiler zone.

Anyhow, new set.

Astrological horses. 13 divines in the set, collect all 12 zodiacs and you earn the 13th sign Ophiuchus
(Ha I wonder how many realize there is actually 13 zodiac signs.)
Kinda funny because I just recently finished naming an entire collection of my horses after each sign and trying to find matching GA coats, and now they'll be divines lol.

New Divine: Scorpio

We are launching a new series of horses: Astrological divine horses.

This is a series of 13 divine (yes actually there are 13 signs of the zodiac).
The former can be won in this contest. This is Scorpion.

If you are born under this sign, Scorpio offers The 5th Element 1 x every year, the day of your birthday, if you connect that day.

Also, each last day of the astrological sign, November 22 for scorpions, the horse of the corresponding sign is offered to a player among the natives of this sign.

Scorpio is more easily accessible, which is why his gift is lower.
We want to test the possibility of proposing a more accessible divine.
Many players complain that the divine is difficult to have and dream of it, therefore we want to propose a divine which requires less pass.
We do not yet know if other astrological horses bring other things, but we can already tell you that they will bring to everyone the fifth element in the same conditions as Scorpio, the sign but they represent.

Warning: from now on, you can not change your birth date.
We will warn the players about the game very soon to enable them to bring their real date of birth if it was not yet the case.
