Event timing/update time question

Why do the events come in the middle of the night instead of after the daily update so you miss the first day unless you stay up late?

Is there an option in settings to choose what time your game updates that I cant find?

This has been discussed with game administration previously. Events actually used to start at a much later real time for those of us in this region.

Please remember, the game needs to cater for all players/servers/time zones across the world, not just for the AU server. Events generally start at the same "time" on all servers. Unfortunately, this means many players on this specific server might be asleep.
