[Known Issue] Promotional/Advertisement Videos

You may have noticed that the promotional/advertising videos on the Pass purchase page hasn't been working lately.

The team is aware of this issue and is currently investigating the issue. I'll update this topic as soon as the issue is resolved.

The videos are still available in the Android & iOS Howrse apps.

Hi, No additional updates at the moment. The team is still working to resolve the issue but it's taking longer than expected.

Please rest assured that the team is still looking into this. However, it will take a bit of time to resolve due to the complexity of the issue.

I'm not particularly impressed that I am seeing a lovely banner ad for watching the promotional videos, only to click the link and find that said videos are still not working. I mean why advertise them if they are not working?

The Australian version was chosen to receive an update for the advertising/promotional videos.

If the advertising videos still do not work for you, please try following these steps:
1. Clear your browser cache and cookies. If you're unsure how, you can find steps in the Make the Most of your Howrse Support Experience forum topic.

2. Test the advertising videos and see if they now work.If they work, hooray! If not, continue to step 3.

3. Send the following information to Contact Us:
- What type of device are you using? Examples: Samsung Galaxy S20 / Apple iPhone 12 / Windows or Apple Macintosh PC

- What operating system does your device have? Examples: Android 10.0.0 / iOS 15.1 / Windows 11 / MacOS Monterey

- What web browser and version are you using? Example: Chrome Version 96.0.4664.93 / Firefox 95.0

Providing the above information will allow the team to further investigate the advertising videos.

Accepted the cookies it forced me too before l could load a video and of course it comes up with a messages saying there are no videos available right now, surprise surprise, and for going to all that trouble to get them working, maybe default smiley (o) ha, l don't think so, that's your job, not ours default smiley (8)
Lived without this function for several months now, just adding to a long list of problems with the game that just continue on indefinitely default smiley :$
On the upside, there'll be a new unbearable update coming soon to look forward too default smiley :-x

In an attempt to use this feature (I tried two separate browsers), I'm experiencing the exact same as above. The video acts as though it's loading, then receiving the no videos available message.

Administration have been made aware the advertising videos are definitely still not working, and have contacted the rest of the team.

Hi everyone,

To keep this thread updated with the most recent information, I'm sharing below a response from the Game Dev Q&A that took place in the official Howrse discord server.


Regarding the rewarded videos, we are aware of the current limitations of what we offer. Until we find better browser-based alternatives, we've decided to restrict this feature to the mobile app only. It's technically more and more complicated to offer videos on a web platform, so we're finding it difficult to offer something. For the time being, we have no plans to work on this issue.

I will update this thread again with any information or updates that I receive.

So if that's the case, then can't you look into a different avenue for Computer users, as there are many of us who are now missing out on the prizes associated. For example, it could be just like a Reel that you pull the handle and one of the prizes is won.

You can't just leave it at that, tuff luck if you don't use the Mobile App, that's not very Customer friendly default smiley (o)

**Very disappointing that important game discussions are now held on a different server to the game itself default smiley (n) This means a lot of players firstly don't even know what's going on and have no way of adding their input default smiley :@ This Discord business was always gonna be a 'Us & Them' catastrophe default smiley :$

I haven't heard any updates yet but I do know that the team is looking for alternatives for computer/browser players. I'll definitely share your suggestion about adding something like a Reel.

I also completely understand the disappointment about important discussions occurring on Discord. I'll share this with the whole team as well.
