So I'm not sure if we're allowed to do this in this thread, but I want to find backgrounds for my divines and I'm too lazy to flip through 40+ pages of backgrounds to find that perfect one, does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations of good backgrounds they've come across recently?
Here's a list of divines that need a background (if they already have a background then it has been added after this post) Liten [url=http://au.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=2031974]Opal[url] Dew Svadilfari Gemini 1 Gemini 2 Seth Osiris Earth I have a personal preference for backgrounds that colour and theme match the horse in question, for theme matching what I mean is the background is of similar design to the coat/horse, so for example: starry background for constellation divine. And when I say colour match I mean harmonic colours, so dark blue with light blue, or red with orange, etc, I'm not averse to contrasting colours such as purple and gold together either. Much of what I'm talking about with matching colours is colour theory for anyone that's interested. Here's a list of horses that do have backgrounds which I've handpicked and adore with reasons as to why I've picked them. Tarus is a constellation, so the starry sky is a perfect match in terms of theme, also Tarus has a golden outline, which has a perfect contrast with pink, purple and dark blue hues which are the dominant colours for the backgrounds. I've had a few others starry sky themed backgrounds saved that I really like and I will use for other divines in the constellation series but they all have purple as a primary colour. I don't like the colour scheme of purple and green together (other people might) so I'm not using those for Gemini. But a star themed background with colours that don't clash with green would be great. Water themed background and water themed coat, well I interpret the bubbles as water bubbles anyway, and the colours match up nicely with various shades of blue. Wind coat which is somewhat tranquil and the background reflects that perfectly. I quite like the colour coordination in this one where the light grey blue of the coat matches nicely with the dark blue tinted purple background. Fire has much of the same ideas as mentioned previously Another wind horse, the tinge of grey in the coat matches the tinge of grey in the background and the swirling snow around the horse really emphasises the wind theme. I had a lot of trouble finding a good background for this coat, I think I might change the background some time in the future if a more suitable one comes along. But I quite like how the yellow glow of the eyes matches with the glow of the pumpkins and the overall background is quite dark which looks nice with a black coat, however the white stars on the coat are a bit out of place for this particular background which is why it's not quite perfect. Okay this post has gotten long enough, I hope soliciting ideas for backgrounds isn't against the rules, I'll be really sad if it was. Looking forward to creative responses, feel free to PM me too because I probably won't check this thread a lot. |

Paint Me Color VERY colour full week this is! Even my avatar is a dragon sliding on.. Colour? paint? Ahh well this horse has same colours as the background so it tends to just be a whole lot of chaos but man it looks like the unicorn just grow up out of a flower!!

Wendiga Castle Street Jesper Cherry Lips Blue Gansey III Titanium RETIRED GA (25yr+) aand ταπεινό ξεκίνημα (also my rarest coat with only 48 copies left) whoops, turns out that was alot of combo's but I'm a huge fan of all my ga horses
