I really like the first version of the Ascent of Olympus. With the 2nd version I won't receive Nyx because I won't use any more than the daily coins . It wasn't necessary before, if I only wanted the main divine. By far. 

Sales: 

I'm trying not to bid over people who don't have access to direct sales as it's one of the few ways to get new horses and might already be stressful enough.

This also applies for friends to me because it feels a little rude to bid over my friends, so I'm trying to avoid it unless I have an objective. As they are my friends I'd expect we could solve the situation of being interested in the same horse without just raising the price of the horse of interest for each other. 

If you want to bid over me feel free to. (I'll state it here if I have a problem with getting the objective done). If we are consistently bidding over each other I will consider the ingame friendship as mostly for events then - which is fine, but also nice to know.
