For any Australians here who don't know the tragic story of the Australian warhorses in WW1 then a lesson to you. Here is a testimony to the thousands of horses in the war who fought as bravely as any man in the Middle East and further. To those who do not know the story of their quarantine it follows as simply, the horses were left behind. Shot or sold to Egyptians for hard labor. Only one returned, a Major General's. Let us remember the men on the 11th of November, but let us remember the horses as well. Lest We Forget.
