How do I determine what specialty my horse should be in? (competitions)

1 answer6 views
Hey,
Have a look at "Genetic" tab on your horse's page—the three skills with the highest Genetic potential will be used as a reference point here.

For competitions, have a look at the three skills that your horse will need to be good at to win at a high level:
For Classical riding competitions (in order of skill):
Trot: Trot/Speed/Dressage
Gallop: Gallop/Speed/Dressage
Dressage: Dressage/Trot/Gallop
Cross-country: Stamina/Dressage/Jumping
Show Jumping: Jumping/Dressage/Speed

For Western riding competitions (in order of skill):
Barrel Racing: Speed/Stamina/Gallop
Cutting: Stamina/Dressage/Speed
Trail Class: Dressage/Trot/Jumping
Reining: Gallop/Dressage/Stamina
Western Pleasure: Trot/Stamina/Dressage

See if the top three skills of your horse line up with any of these and you will get an indication of the type of discipline you should enter. It's not always perfect, but it should work for most of the popular breeds.

Best of luck!
