[Info] How to Post Images

Hi folks,
Re-posting as the old post disappeared.
---
First, ensure your image is 'Hosted'. That means it needs to be stored on a server before it can be viewed publicly on the internet in such places as forums.

There are many image hosting services available for free, such as Tinypic. Go ahead and Upload your image!

Once upload is complete, you will find code (will look like 'IMG=' or ‘IMG src=’ or ‘<*a href=’ followed by a web address) now associated with your image. This will allow you to post your image to forums and use them in presentation pages etc.

You may also edit your image (Paint – use the pixel option) before you upload it, or within some image hosting sites, to suit the width of where you are posting your picture. See below for some width appropriate sizes. Note generally when you input the pixel (px) width, the height will auto adjust for you.

Forums – 550px
Large Presentation Page – 800px
EC/Small Presentation Page – 550px

Forums:
Click on the Add an Image button (looks like a mini landscape) when posting, then paste or type in the URL address given for your image by the hosting site.

EC/Personal Presentation Pages:
Click Edit (looks like a writing tool), then click Insert a Pic button (again looks like a landscape), and paste or type in the address given for your image by the hosting site.

Personal Messages (PMs):

Type the code & address of the image
Examples;
[*img]insert image address[/img*]
<*a href="insert image address">
Take out the * before you post. If I took them out now, it would try to post an image and you wouldn’t be able to see the examples.

Reminders:
- Be sure any image you use, that is not your own creation, you have authors permission for use.
- This thread’s purpose is to help others and allow people to practise posting an image, not hard coding entire presentation pages. Please refrain from “talking code” that does not relate to images.
- This thread is not for advertising via misuse of images.
- Players are reminded to adhere to forum policy, specifically in regard to the type and theme of images posted when practising or helping others.

Thank you all, I hope you found this helpful. If not, please do ask for clarification, i am happy to assist!

I’m not too familiar with kindle, but try tap and hold to copy.
Then drag to highlight the amount of text.
Then try tapping the highlighted text to add to clipboard, and long press to paste.

To post an image with a link in your presentation:

<a href="link URL not that must not be from outside of howrse"> <img src="URL of the image" width="width here" height="height here" </a>
Thanks for the info Kɪssᴍᴇᴡ

If you google Howrse Banners or Howrse Banner Maker/Generator, you will be able to find a couple of sites that do.

Just note that they are sites not affiliated with Howrse, be careful if you chose to use them.

Hello, I have some screenshots on my computer of my achievements on howrse. I'd like to put them on my presentation, but I can't seem to get a URL for it. I'm not real good with this tech stuff!

Grey fern stud, you need to put them on an image hosting site for a usable URL - TinyPic was recommended to me and seems to work well
