[Info] Cross Breeders

The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding. There are many other aspects to crossbreeding, and we wish to include all if possible
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful default smiley :)

Here are a few points for beginners:
♦ If both parents are purebred, then the foal will present as the fathers’ breed
♦ If one or both are not purebred, then the foal will take on whatever is the dominant breed
♦ We cannot convert crossbreeds back to purebred. The most they will ever be is 99%
♦ When blupping, you need to take into account the top 3GP skills of the *individual* horse, not necessarily the breed it presents as
♦ The most important thing when it comes to crossbreeding? - to have fun default smiley ;)

Please bear in mind this is not the place to advertise coverings, nor is it for selling horses.

Thanks

@Silverstream
Good thing I believe nothing is impossible default smiley ;),It may be that only five will be visible and it may take a very long time but my aim is to have every breed in its family tree at least once so I will not give up and if more than one person does it it should be easier default smiley ^) so I hope that one day I will have a horse of every breed in one
So have faith that one day someone will complete the impossible default smiley (a)
No I mean it is actually impossible.. do the maths we don't have the right amount of breeds to do it I suppose you could move to Paris, join the howrse company and then redesign it to make it possible But.. That just seems like a bit to much trouble to be worth it.. if ya know what I mean

Oh well maybe one day we will have enough breeds for it to divide equally default smiley :$default smiley :'(
After about 6 months of not playing, I have returned. Can't believe how high the GP has gotten. To celebrate my return I have bred these two foals.

They don't have names as of yet.

As I am new to the server, but not to the game, I thought I'd put my two bob in.
It is possible to cross every -available- horse and pony breed, even if only five breeds are displayed at any given time.
You cannot mix Donkeys to another breed, and only Drafts can be crossed together.

I myself have three horses on the Int. server that has all 44 light-horse and pony breeds and was completed in September last year.

There's no reason why it can't be done on this server, either.

Bumping to keep topic from disappearing from the forum.

Reminding players not to ask for breeding partners, and please do not advertise coverings in the forums. You may do these on your presentation only default smiley ;)

Eventually Im going to crossbreed any breed combo just for the challenge of blupping them (and having a collection of crossbreds...) but for now focusing on my TB/Nokota/Paint purebreds so my first crossbreds are likely to be a combo of these three. Then I'll introduce outside bloodlines to bring in other breeds.

well, with my paints, since my first mare on this account (new account old player!well I'm not old but yeah) I'm putting crossbred hanos and arabs with over 3500 GP over her, the foal is normally 1500+ GP, and then I get a purebred paint and cover (if female) the mare, the foal (if also female) will get covered again by purebred paint, so that (I know crossbreds will never become pures again) I should be able to cross an arab or hano over again, and so forth.
I'm concentrating on breeding purebreds, I'm hoping to be the first to reach 3000 GP with Paints/Appys/quarter Horses, my affixes (eventually) are:

Right now: BMR Performance Horses

in the future:
BMR Paints
BMR Appaloosas
BMR Quarter Horses
BMR with a Cross

One of my loves with crosses is when the lowest gp skill for the purebred, is the highest presenting in the crossbred

This is going to be fun default smiley (b)

This is my first time taking crossbreeding a bit more seriously and i have chosen to aim for Mustang crosses, I'm pretty happy with my first couple of attempts. Just wondering if someone would be able to give me advice on training and blupping one of my crossbred horses.

I was thinking of training this mare (Wild Love, Mustang x Arabian) in the same way i had with another of my Mustang crosses (Mustang x Appaloosa). Wild Love's top three skills in order are speed, stamina then gallop.

Starting with training in forest rides and starting her training in stamina and gallop until she is competitive enough to get her 20wins. Selecting western as discipline for comps. Once she has her 20wins completing the rest of her rides and training the rest of her skills.

Am i on the right track for her training if i follow how i trained and blupped the Mustang x Appaloosa or is her being Mustang x Arabian going to change the way i should be training her.

Here is a link to Wild Love. https://au.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=2532134
