Welcome

Hi there and thanks for visiting my page. For anyone interested in skiller/skillor/skilly foals I have compiled a list of FAQ's at the bottom of my page.

About Me

I am an adult female player from Western Australia. I played on the International version for a couple of years before this version started.

My Breeding

I founded my Thoroughbred breeding line "Magnum Opus" when AU Howrse first started on 12 January 2011. It was a solo breeding project and my pair of foundation Thoroughbreds, Armistice and Rocabe, started with 350 GP and 0 stars. Over the past few years, I have spent countless hours blupping and breeding my Throughbreds and I am very proud that Magnum Opus horses were the first green star horses produced on AU Howrse (Click here  and  here  to see them).

In October 2014, after reaching over 1500GP and 100 green stars, I decided to start a new era of Magnum Opus Thoroughbreds and formed a Magnum Opus team. My heartfelt thanks to Tam Alex, King Of Jazz, Seven Live, Simbela and Corinne12 for joining me in this journey.

Magnum Opus Sales

Skilly foals (ie. those with top IBS) and other gelded, teared horses are placed in the public sales as and when they become available. Note that we do not accept orders for skilly foals. Pease refer to the team page for futher information.

Skillers, Skillors and Skillys

Where did these terms come from?
These terms are not official Howrse terms or definitions. They were created by top breeders on the International version.

Is it Skiller or Skillor?
As it’s not an official term there is no correct spelling so it doesn’t really matter.

What are Skiller foals?
A skiller foal is a foal that has one of the highest genetic potential (GP) for their breed along with high inborn skills (IBS). These foals have the potential to make the top of the rankings and be Grand Prix winners if skilled correctly, fully clouded and aged up to 25 years and equipped with all Black Market items that give performance bonuses.

Who can produce Skiller foals?
Only the top breeders who have the highest GP horses can produce skiller foals. To find out who the top breeders are go to Ranking > Horses > Click on 'Genetics-Purebred' then select the breed you are interested in.

Beware of players who are not top breeders claiming they produce and sell "skillers". It's simply not possible - be careful how you choose to spend your hard earned equus and passes.

How are Skiller foals produced?
Skiller foals are produced from fully blupped parents using Aphrodite's Tears to maximise their IBS. My team only considers a foal to be a skiller if its IBS falls within 10 points of the maximum IBS possible (there are some breeding teams that do not apply this high standard).

Using Aphrodite's Tears does NOT guarantee a skiller foal. It can take many, many, many tries to get a foal with suitable IBS to be a skiller. If the IBS does not fall within the top IBS range, the foal is not considered a skiller - simply a foal that has been bred with Aphrodite's Tears.

Why are Skillers always gelded?
Prior to sale, any female foals are changed to male foals (with a Zeus Lightning Bolt) and then aged to 1.6 years and gelded. This is done to protect the hard work of breeders. Remember - these are the highest GP horses we are talking about. If they were sold ungelded, it would mean other players could buy them and start breeding high GP horses too. That wouldn't be very fair to top breeders who have spent countless hours/months/years blupping and producing hundreds of generations of horses to get their breeds GP to where it is today.
